Exercise 18 Write the following sentences in the indirect speech.

Model: 1)When did you receive this letter?’ my friend said to me. – My friend asked me when I had received this letter.

2) ‘Don’t make noise,’ said Tom’s mother to him. – Tom’s mother asked him not to make noise.

1. ‘Do you like my pies, Ann?’ asked her grandmother. 2. ‘Sit down at the table and do your homework,’ said Tom’s mother to him. 3. ‘What did you do at school yesterday, John?’ said his father. 4. ‘Will you play the piano today, Helen?’ asked her aunt. 5.
