Our activities




Our International Volunteer Projects offer young people the opportunity to join international voluntary service on community-based projects in over 70 countries worldwide. The projects differ enormously ranging from nature conservation, restoration, education and construction to projects that are more socially based including work with adults and children with special needs, teaching or organizing youth/children's holiday schemes.

ҐІ. Basic information

 

The volunteer can chose the project he/she would like to be in and those who are accepted for the project work with other multicultural volunteers as partners who are interested in the project as like you from all over the world. 2 or 3 volunteers become a team to work in the project for 3 months. We have 25 projects for 2013 and 19 projects teams work together with Korean volunteers. They will help you to work with local children and stay in Korea. Volunteers mainly work with the host of the project for assisting them and teach the youth and children of local community. Volunteers should be prepared to be flexible with regard to their project placement.

 

We hope that volunteers contribute their passion and efforts to each project all across the country in Korea for the year of 2013. ItЎЇs not just long, but Long-term project!!

Ўб Eligibility

-Volunteers must be between 19 to 40 years old.

-All volunteers are required to speak English well enough to communicate and carry out the project activities.

-Volunteers are also encouraged to learn Korean. It will be very much welcomed by the local people because ItЎЇs much easier to communicate with local people and children in the project.

-Each volunteer should be motivated to complete their assigned projects successfully and have a heart willing to learn about Korea and the local cultures.

-Open mind and enthusiasm

Ўб Training: Orientation, Mid-term and Final Evaluation

-Upon arrival in Korea, there is a mandatory 2 nights and 3 days orientation before moving to the project site. At the orientation meeting, participants will be trained as long-term volunteers through conflict management workshops, case study revision, helpful advice from ex-participants and Korean cultural nuance awareness training. Through this arrival orientation, we hope that volunteers will be encouraged to remain active during whole period of project and will gain the confidence to explore the local area by themselves.

-During the project, there is a mid evaluation for 2days in order to share experience and stories among volunteers and have a fun for our solidarity.

-After finish the project, there is a final evaluation in order to finally look back and revive the meaning of the experiences.

Ўб Accommodation & Food

-Meals and accommodation are provided during the project period by host organization. However, depending on the project, volunteers may be also required to cook for themselves.

Ўб Work & Free Time

-Work hours and schedules vary from project to project, but prepared to work around 5 to 7 hours a day, Monday to Friday. Additionally, you may be asked to join certain activities on weekend if necessary.

-Volunteers are responsible for organizing their own free time after their daily work and for the weekend. If needed, host organizations will help volunteers find information on travel procedures and local activities.

Ўб Insurance

-We provides insurance for accidents only during the project. It covers only 40% of the actual cost according to the insurance regulations for foreigners in KOREA. Therefore, volunteers MUST bring their ownhealth and travel insurance and aware of way of compensation, if applicable.

Ўб Duration & Number of Volunteers

-About 3 months

-2 or 3 international & national volunteers in each project

Ўб Participation Fee:

-200 Euro for a project (Pay upon arrival)

<Upon & After arrival>

-3days Arrival orientation includes the following:

Dormitory style accommodation & meal during orientation,

Orientation program including Inter-cultural learning, Project site information, Learning Korean & Korea

Orientation Handout with information relevant to child information & activity schedule of the project

 

<During project>

-Mid evaluation includes the following:

Half day Mini tour of Seoul City

Transportation to and from project site

-Final evaluation includes certificate

-Ongoing support by program coordinator from we includes the following:

Bi-weekly call during the project and visit at the project

24 hours emergency support

-Full support of host organization during project includes the following:

All Meals and accommodation, cultural site visit on the weekend

Travel advice and information for volunteers who would like to travel on the weekend

Access to email, internet and mail-holding facility at the project site

 

2) WhatЎЇs excluded

-Cost of international flights

-Airport pick up on arrival

-Transportation to and from project & the city

-Transportation to the airport at the end of project

-Passport and visa issue

-Visa extension fee, when applicable

-Health, accident and travel insurance (mandatory)

-Personal expenses including international phone calls

-Additional cost due to special dietary requirements

 

Ўб Visa

-Once the applicant is accepted, we will provide a Visa Invitation Letter on request; however, any further paperwork and/or documentation should be prepared and obtained by the participant themselves.

-It is NO VISA for those who are staying less than 90 days in Korea except China, Russia and Indonesia.

Please check with the Korean Embassy in your country concerning proper visa requirements.

 

* Notice : Participants from the following countries do not require a special visa in order to travel to Korea, if leaving within a 90 day period:

: European Union (Exceptions: Portugal – 60 days; Cyprus – 30 days)

: Some Asian countries (Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia)

: U.S.A (Exception: Canada-6 months)

 

If you like to stay longer before/after the project up to 1 year in Korea, you may check the WORKING HOLIDAY VISA programs in your country (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, France, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, Hongkong, Taiwan). ItЎЇs easy to get and convenient to use.
