Read the text and tell about the most important places of interest in Tyumen.
The best way to see the city is to begin with the Museum of Regional Studies. It was built at the beginning of 19th century by unknown architect. On the pediment there is a tower clock invented by a Russian peasant Aleksey Trusov. The Museum has rich collections of flora, fauna and minerals of Tyumen region. Near the Museum a war memorial with the Eternal Flame is situated. Not far from it there is Trinity Monastery, Russian Baroque style. It was built in the early 18th century and it is still true gem of the town. The walls of the Central Trinity Cathedral have survived to this day. In 1716 the Monastery opened the first parish school for priests’ children. It is located on a very convenient and important for the city place. The broad, flat cape between the two rivers and the Tura bank is a kind of a plot of the town. The Monastery stands solidly, firmly fixing its high walls and monumental erections. On its territory there is St. Peter and Paul’s church. Many household tools have found refuge in the museum of the church built in 1726-1755. There are also some other 18th century churches in the town.
Not far from the State University you can see the monument to the fighters of the revolutionary struggleandthe monument to the school-leavers killed during the war. If you walk down Republic Street (former Tsarskaya) suddenly to the left the view of the Znamensky Cathedral emerges. The construction of the Cathedral lasted for 20 years and was rebuilt many times. The composition of the Cathedral is very plastic and picturesque. Each facade seems to be the main one, but none of them appears to be static. Among the modern building are the Palaces of Culture of Tyumen geologists and oil-industry workers, the railway station, the Drama and Puppet theatres, the reconstructed Concert Hall and Circus, the building of Quality Hotel Tyumen, various clubs, cinemas, cafe, hotels, a Victory memorial. Every year we can see changes in appearance of the town. It becomes more and more beautiful. Old buildings are being reconstructed and rebuilt. New panel and brick blocks of flats grow everywhere destined for all society layers.
