To ask and describe the dimensions of objects, you can use either nouns or their corresponding adjectives along with suitable interrogative pronouns What or How

 

Therefore, we have several patterns which you can see below:

Pattern 1

Asking:

Describing:

Noun(s) is/ are ……………….. high. wide. long. thick. deep.

Pattern 2

Asking:

WHAT is the height width length depth thickness of noun(s)?

Describing:

The height width length depth thickness of noun(s) is/ are …………

Pattern 3

Asking:

WHAT are the measurements of noun(s)?

Describing:

Noun(s) is/ are ………… in height width length depth thickness

Or:

Noun(s) has/ have a/the height width length depth thickness of ………

Note: With this way of describing, the question may be formed from the verb to measure to ask for the measurements of objects.
