Question Law is made up of words and every words or combination of words provides a certain meaning. If a law has to serve its purpose, it must be constructed with the right words by the legal draftsmen/drafters.
To make law more meaningful and useful in its purpose, interpretation of the law becomes necessary and the judiciary is the competent body to interpret statutes.
In view of the above statement, discuss judicial interpretation of statutes and the various techniques of interpretation in Malaysian Legal system.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of this individual assignment is to enable the students to appreciate the important role play how the intrepretation of the law is made. The techniques of how the judiciary are expected to be explored.
EXPECTED OUTCOME
i) Students are expected to understand and appreciate the intrepretation process. ii) Students are expected to understand the techniques or concept adopted by the judiciary during the intrepretation of the law.
