Verbs with two objects have two possible passive structures.




ACTIVE They gavethe winner the prize. They gavea prize to the winner. PASSIVE The winner was givena prize. A prize was given to the winner. The structure with the person as subject is probably more common.

Choose the best way A or B of continuing after each sentence 1-5.

1 He lives in a small house.
