CLASS 7

1. The latest news

2. Analyze the text. Use the scheme on pp. 105-106 and do it in writing.

3. Essential vocabulary: 6, 7 (interfere, constant). Check the back translation of the sentences (“Активний лексичний мінімум” # 98-104). Check ex 3 B (1-5) p.14.

4. Essential vocabulary: 8 (resist). Learn the sentences with these words (“Активний лексичний мінімум” # 105-113). Do ex 3 B (6-7) p.14.

5. Ex. 6A p.15.

6. Be ready to write a training translation on the essential vocabulary (Vocabulary Notes 1-5).

 

 

CLASS 8

1. Essential vocabulary: 9, 10 (reflect, admire), Learn the sentences with these words (“Активний лексичний мінімум” # 114-124). Do ex 3 B (to the end) p.14.

2. A mini-lesson on the essential vocabulary (words 6-10) – DIANA

3. Be ready to write a training translation on the essential vocabulary (Vocabulary Notes 6-10).

4. Role-playing (20 minutes). A conference devoted to the activity of J. Cameron. Review the text.

Choose the head of the conference (NASTYA), some famous film directors who know J. Cameron, the actors and actresses who star in his films, film critics, film goers. The head has to announce the theme of the conference “Life and activity of the famous Canadian film director James Cameron” and the questions for discussion:

(1) How Cameron’s life influenced his choice of the profession and his activity.

(2) The most important themes depicted in his works (some definite examples should be given).

(3) The role of music, colour, dialogue, or different other art means used in his films (give examples).

(4) Personal impressions.

The head should also say a few introductory sentences about the role of Bergman in the world cinematography. The head should channel the discussion, take care that everybody should stick to the point. At the end he/she should make a short concluding speech. After the conference the teacher and the students should evaluate the discussion.

5. Write a topic “Creative activity of James Cameron” in the notebook for topics; make up the outline:

1. Introduction.

2. Body

2.1. …

2.2. …

3. Conclusion.

6. Make up a crammed story with the active vocabulary on a separate sheet of paper (to be handed in).

7. Translation practice.

 

CLASS 9

1. Revise the active vocabulary (“Активний лексичний мінімум” # 1-149) for a training translation.

2. Learn the topic “Creative activity of James Cameron” and be ready to speak on it according to the requirements.

3. Do ex. 6B p. 15. Do ex. 8, 9, 10 p.16

Homework for CLASS 10

1. Read how to write annotations (pp 91-92). Write an annotation to the article “The Story of Fiction” (p. 92-93).

2. Revise the active vocabulary. Be ready to write a lexico-grammatical translation.
