Путешествуя по Италии, не перестаешь удивляться великолепию и грандиозности этой страны. Не каждому путешественнику удается сохранять присутствие духа при знакомстве с итальянскими традициями и красотами.
Красноречивые итальянцы, которые так любят поговорить о своей стране и о своих предках, всегда с радостью расскажут вам одну или парочку историй, чтобы взбодрить путешественника и привлечь его внимание к какой-либо незначительной мелочи, которая потом окажется очень важной для развития сюжета.
Недалеко от Колизея, в одной из церквей Рима, Санта Мария ин Космедин, находятся знаменитые «Уста истины», античный лик с открытыми устами. Поверье гласит, что если лжец вложит в них свою руку, уста закроются, и лжец будет наказан, оставшись без ладони. Этот способ проверки алиби был придуман итальянцами еще жл того, как появились полицейские и суды, и никто еще не знал о перекрестных допросах и экспертизах ДНК.
Очарованный этой историей и собрав все свое мужество, путешественник смело обязательно захочет вложить руку в уста. Затем итальянский гид наверняка объяснит ему, что эту идею придется оставить, так как итальянцы, которые относятся к жизни легко, давно обнесли этот монумент решеткой, чтобы ни один из любознательных туристов не был принесен в жертву старинной легенде. И газеты потом не будут писать об этом как о несчастном случае и не осудят красноречивого гида, обвинив его в мошенничестве при отягчающих обстоятельствах.
