THE WINTER’S TALE

Dear students we are pleased to greet you at video classes dedicated to the works of the great writer William Shakespeare. Today we are going to look and discuss one of his story. Cartoon “Winter's Tale” is not very popular in our days but has a deep sense and morality.

“William Shakespeare is the greatest and the most famous of Britain's writers. He was born on April,23,1564 in Stratford-on Avon. He married Anne Hathaway and they have three children. During his life he set up his own theatre «The Globe». Shakespeare had written many plays, some of them - The Comedy of Errors, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Merchant of Venice, Julius Caesar, As You Like It, Twelfth Night, Hamlet, All’s Well That Ends Well, Othello, King Lear, Macbeth. Shakespeare was buried in the Holy Trinity Church. It is interesting that he died on his birthday, 23 April, 1616.”

The comedies of Shakespeare are composed on opposite principles. The scene is usually set some imaginary country and the action based on stories that are almost fairy-tales. All the comedies tell of love and harmony. Not an exception and Winter's Tale. Now let's get acquainted with the main characters of the tale what we are going to look. (презентация)
“This is Leontes –the King of Sicily, and the childhood friend of the Bohemian King Polixenes. Hermione –the Queen of Sicily. Mamillius – the young prince of Sicily, Leontes and Hermione's son. Perdita –the daughter of Leontes and Hermione. Polixenes –the King of Bohemia, and Leontes's childhood friend. Florizel –Polixenes's only son. Antigonus - lord of Leontes . Paulina– a loyal defender of Hermione, wife to Antigonus. Autolycus –a pickpocket. These characters will follow us in the tale”.
